BRIDGE TO DREAMS

New Wig for Cancer Survivor!

Our resident, Margaret at Shelburne LTC has battled cancer for a lengthy period and wanted a wig due to her hair loss. Her Bridge to Dream was fulfilled!

Here is her heartfelt letter she wrote thanking our staff:

My name is Margaret and I have battled cancer for the past ten years. Before I had cancer my hair was thick and curly. After I had chemo treatment for the cancer my hair mostly fell out and when it started to grow back it was very thin and straight. I lived with it for several years, but then decided to try to see if I could get a wig. I requested a Paula Young catalogue which came within two weeks. I picked out a wig that was like a pixie cut. The staff ordered it for me, and it arrived in only 8 days! They then told me the bill was taken care of with the Bridge to Dreams Program. I did not expect that and for that I am truly grateful to my home at Shelburne Long Term Care and all the wonderful staff.

A Day of Pampering

Bridge to Dreams

It’s the little things in life. Beverley wanted her hair done at the salon, so we made a morning of it. First stop was Cobwebs and Caviar to visit with AJ Cavey (the owner) who kindly welcomed us to her business and let Bev pick out a pretty scarf and some fun socks. Next stop was Enchanting Esthetics. Jasmine gave Bev a beautiful hand massage and manicure and then over to Crystal who made Bev’s hair beautiful again. Next up on the way home was Jelly Craft Bakery for a little treat to end her day. A walk in the sunshine to get out to all of these downtown Shelburne businesses and a morning of non-stop smiles. What a great day!
